ABOUT
The Caux Scholars Program (CSP) is a month-long international course offering young leaders theoretical and practical studies in peacebuilding. Students from around the world examine complex conflicts from a transformational and human security perspective. They learn analytical tools and develop strategic peacebuilding skills, and explore identity, culture, trauma, justice and religion as critical factors in the just peace process. Students are also encouraged to examine their personal roles in transforming and preventing relational and structural conflicts.
Approximately 20 students from around the world are selected each summer to convene in Caux, Switzerland, at the international conference center for Initiatives of Change, Mountain House, for an intensive studies program in applied peacemaking. To date, over 300 participants from 86 countries have completed the program.
The program integrates theory, peacebuilding models, skill building and role-plays. The group also takes a field trip to Geneva to visit international organizations, such as the United Nations, where they have a private presentation and discussion with a representative.
Program Dates: July 10 — August 9, 2009
