The Caux Scholars Program was established in 1991, and takes place at Mountain House, the conference center of Initiatives of Change in Caux, Switzerland. This center has served to gather the global peacebuilding community for workshops and forums for 60 years.

The Caux Scholars Program is an educational program of the international organization Initiatives of Change (IofC)IofC is an informal, global network of people of diverse faiths and backgrounds, working for reconciliation and justice and focusing on what is right rather than who is right. IofC emphasizes that any lasting change in the world depends on change in the attitudes, motives and relationships of individuals. IofC encourages those with a faith to search for God's will in their daily life as the basis for individual initiative and common action, and those without, to live by the highest values they know.
